Job Description

Troll Systems is currently seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer who will be working in small (50 person) company specializing in high end- world class RF datalink systems. The selected candidate will work in the R&D department but will also interface with production, quality management, and configuration control to ensure the highest quality standards are applied while considering cost and schedule impact.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Digital and mixed signal electronics design

Power design for controllers and pan/tilt systems

Microcontroller designs to system control.

Firmware support for Embedded designs

RF design for frequency conversion and low noise amplifiers and SSPA.

Schematic capture and layout using Altium Designer.

Design for Manufacture, Test, Cost and Service.

Create test and manufacturing procedures as well as creation of quality procedures, test plans,

Support root cause analysis and training of technicians supporting QA and Manufacturing departments.

Developing clear and concise assembly instructions to include and reference appropriate points of inspection

Facilitate continual improvement activities

Supports other projects and initiatives as assigned

Cradle to Grave electronics design as it pertains to our data link systems


Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering

Desire 5 years of hands-on direct work experience in a related field

Hands on experience in PCB design

Able to create/maintain procedures in support of test and manufacturing

Background in Digital, Power and RF electronics

Good understanding of mechanical systems

Background and experience in Embedded software and firmware

Experience in the creation of manufacturing documentation including assembly instructions
